Behind every set of GCSE results is an individual story of hard work and determination to gain success. Year on year the Rye St Antony community celebrates the hard work, determination and resilience of its pupils and their exam results and watches them move on, successfully, to their chosen next steps as resilient learners and confident young women.
Our GCSE results in 2019 were a fantastic set of results. The number of students getting grade 9s has tripled since the previous year with notable successes in Chemistry, Maths, RS, English and Languages. We would like to give special mention to Issy who achieved eight top 8 and 9 grades among her results, and Francesca who achieved seven grade 7 among her results. Both girls, along with many other Year 11 pupils, are excited to be returning to Rye to start their A-level studies in the Sixth Form and we are looking forward to welcoming them back to start the next part of their journey with us.
At A-Level in 2019 the vast majority of our students successfully get into their first choice university to study a range of courses from Veterinary Science and Medicine to Modern Foreign Languages and Music. This year we were pleased to specifically celebrate 65% of students getting A*-C grades, including 100% A*-B in Psychology and 100% A*-C in Languages and Humanities subjects. We also had some truly fantastic EPQ qualification where our pupils were able to demonstrate their independent thinking and research skills, it is exciting to see how their two years of Sixth Form study have prepared our pupils to move on to the next stage of their education.
