Sixth Form Oxford
Why Should You Choose Rye Sixth Form, Oxford

Rye Sixth Form girls are mature, confident young women who enjoy life in a school environment. They benefit from small class sizes at A-level and a breadth of academic and creative courses. Their experience at Rye enables them to discover their passions, hone their talents, and go on to have inspirational individual success in their studies and careers. A Rye girl knows that the future is hers for the taking. We are proud to have a Sixth Form that can also call Oxford its classroom and ensure our girls see the benefits of enriching their education and experience with the culture, lectures, history and additional opportunities that offers.

There is also the option of enriching A Level studies by opting for additional qualifications including a BTEC Business, The Leiths Professional Food and Wine Qualification (which we are proud to be the only Sixth Form in Oxford to offer), the Extended Project Qualification or by completing the Duke of Edinburgh’s award. Breadth of interest and skill are key to building successful young career women who can take on the world.

There are a huge number of activities on offer which girls are encouraged to pursue outside of the classroom, such as The Youth Speaks Competition, and Model United Nations as well as numerous sporting, musical, and community and service activities. In fact, we find that the main challenge for our Sixth Form students is fitting it all in!

As most senior members of the school community, our students flourish and take advantage of fantastic leadership opportunities. They have the opportunity to be members of the Prefect team but they can also lead Houses, be Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, or Peer Mentors to students lower down the school. The Sixth Form Team prepares the girls for life beyond Rye; whether that be in the transition to university, completing UCAS applications and preparing for universities, practising for specific university entrance exams such as LNAT, BMAT, UKCAT, STEP and Oxbridge admissions tests or going on gap years or apprenticeships.

We are proud of our Sixth Form in the heart of Oxford and we have an increasing number of girls joining us from outside our community; young women who recognise the benefits of single-sex education before moving into the wider world. Such students are given a very warm welcome, making friends easily and integrate quickly into the School.

Girls leave the Sixth Form well-equipped and excited for the future that lies ahead, taking with them a host of memories of their time with us. They feel supported as individuals as they prepare to leave our gates.
