Reception Class – It’s Only The Beginning

Your child’s education starts here.  Rye’s lively, happy, and nurturing reception class for girls and boys aged four to five offers the best possible beginning to school life. Our holistic approach to learning means each child is an individual whose needs are listened to and fully supported. In these formative years, your daughter or son’s happiness is most important of all and we believe Rye’s unique atmosphere offers the foundation for a rich and varied curriculum that’s surrounded by highly enjoyable activities.

Our highly experienced and empathetic teaching staff will ensure that your child will be immersed in the seven key areas of learning with a strong emphasis on play and fun.

What our Reception children love…

  • Running and playing in our beautiful 12-acre gardens and woodland
  • Toasting marshmallows and making mud pies in weekly Forest School sessions, held in our grounds
  • Learning to communicate with others in a supportive, happy environment
  • Singing in weekly music link sessions
  • Talking and listening
  • Reading
  • Making new friends

*We are rated as ‘Excellent’ by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (2017)*

Whole School Open Week

Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October

This year we are doing things slightly differently to comply with current Covid-19 guidelines.

We warmly invite you to experience Rye St Antony during a personal virtual meeting at a time that suits you. Meet staff and pupils, have a look around with our virtual tour and see what makes Rye so special.

We are incredibly proud of the Virtual Learning Experience we have offered our pupils during lockdown – you can read about it here
