How to apply for Rye St Antony Prep School

Choosing a prep school for your child is an important decision as you want them to have the best possible start to their formal education. You want what is right for them and their individual needs, but also for them to be happy.

A child’s early education is a crucial time when new patterns of learning are established so it’s important to get it right.  Once you’ve made the decision for your child to join us (and we hope you do),  we will help you every step of the way right up until your child’s milestone first day at Rye St Antony.

Once an initial visit is completed, our Prep and Pre-Prep School applicants, aged between three and 11, will be invited to take part in an assessment/taster visit when they can spend a full day with their year group. At some point in the day, your child will be asked to complete numeracy and literary assessments. This is nothing to worry about – they are straightforward and enable the classroom teacher to get an idea of your child’s starting place and ensure they can tailor their teaching accordingly.

If you are applying for a boarding place (for children Year 5 and above), we will invite your child to complete their visit with an overnight stay. This provides an ideal opportunity for your child to sample all that boarding life at Rye has to offer.

Places will be offered to your child following a successful day visit, interview with staff, and satisfactory reports and references from any current school.
