At Rye, we recognise not every sport is for everyone. For some, sport is about competition, endurance and may even harbour a professional path. For others, it is a form of release, relaxation or time to enjoy with friends. We ensure the range of sports we offer and the levels we offer them at reflect this diversity. From Hockey and Netball to Yoga, Martial Arts and Swimming. Our pupils are welcome, and encouraged, to try everything. To be ambitious, be curious and be themselves in their sporting achievements.

Curriculum

Initial enjoyment of physical activity stems from curriculum lessons, in which every student partakes. Each pupil at Rye is challenged in a range of activities to enhance their skillset. We strive to ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to find an activity that inspires them to achieve their potential. Pupils are able to go on to study PE at GCSE level.

Extra-Curricular

Outside of planned lesson time, pupils are offered the chance to participate in club and squad activities in a wide range of sports at lunchtimes and after school. With full access to all facilities, including our all purpose-built sports centre, we are able to accommodate almost every activity pupils are wishing to pursue. They receive high level coaching from teachers.
