How to apply for Senior School at Rye St Antony
The transition from Prep to Senior School is a hugely important milestone for your child and here at Rye we aim to make it as easy and stress-free as possible.
Girls who are currently in our Prep School do not need to take an extra examination as they are assessed on their current progress. Prep School and Senior School staff liaise closely to ensure continuity and progression. All pupils from our Prep School, and those joining us from externally, are invited to a Year 7 Induction Afternoon in the June before they are due to start Senior School.

Applicants for 12+ and 14+ entry
12+ and 14+ applicants are invited to take an entrance examination alongside an interview with the Head or a senior member of staff. Taster days are encouraged. The day will be spent with the applicant’s current year.
International applicants to the Senior School will be required to take entrance examinations either at their current school, recognised agency, or other approved establishment. If applying for the GCSE programme (Years 10 and 11), we would expect applicants to be working towards or having passed the Cambridge First Certificate or have IELTS 5/6.
Senior places are offered on the strength of the entrance examinations and interview with the Head or a senior member of staff. References from the applicant’s current school will be requested.
If you are applying for a boarding place for your daughter, there is the option of an overnight stay. This provides the perfect way to sample what Senior boarding life is like at Rye and we do recommend this.
