Prep School (7-11 years)
Prep School – where every day is an adventure
In our lively, but educationally stimulating Prep School for boys and girls aged between 5 and 11, every new day is for exploration. Our Prep School pupils are encouraged to use their natural curiosity to develop a love of learning.
Set in our glorious 12-acre gardens and woodland with space to run around and let off steam, our Prep School pupils quickly establish lifelong patterns of learning and a joy for living.
These primary years are crucial to set the path to a young person’s future – to develop not just key skills and joy in learning, but to respect one-another and themselves, care for others and learn about the outside world.
We like to recognise hard work and achievement through regular awards, competitions and challenges, while encouraging all our pupils to develop friendships and links with the whole school community right up to Sixth Form.
Alongside our broad and balanced curriculum, taught by highly-experienced staff, children are always busy with all kinds of activities from clubs to Forest School, art and pottery to cookery.
This child-centred approach, combined with structured learning targets to suit each pupil’s individual needs, provides the key ingredients for creating a happy, well-rounded young person, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities of Senior School and beyond.
Just as importantly, our parents are always welcomed and encouraged to participate in school activities – our door is always open and we work hard to keep them informed on every aspect of their child’s school life. Our parents love attending our great variety of events and highly popular drama productions.
Please come and see Rye Prep School in action, we would be delighted to show you around.
Our wonderful Prep School staff made this video during lockdown – it spread smiles and cheer across the whole school community. Enjoy watching.
