Prep School Curriculum Preparatory School

Small class sizes in our Preparatory School mean our experienced teachers have the freedom to use varied and creative teaching methods whilst being able to meet the individual needs of each pupil, tailoring work to bring out the very best in them.

In our broad and carefully balanced curriculum, your child can expect to learn, investigate and discover:

  • Numeracy
  • Literacy
  • Science
  • Humanities such as history and geography
  • Computing
  • Music
  • Drama
  • Sport
  • Religious Studies
  • Langauges

In Prep School, pupils have a Form Teacher each year and also benefit from specialist teaching in French, ICT,  Science, Music, Drama, PE, Art and Food.

Key Stage Two readers are consistently well above the national average and pupils’ attainment increases by three to four grades above the national curriculum levels for every year group.

The boys attending Rye, who leave at the age of 11, are renowned for achieving places in top Oxford Schools including Magdalen, Abingdon, New College, Summer Fields and Christ Church Cathedral School.

Year 6 girls leave Prep School thoroughly prepared for the transition into Senior School with four Scholarships offered each year.

Whole School Open Week

Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October

This year we are doing things slightly differently to comply with current Covid-19 guidelines.

We warmly invite you to experience Rye St Antony during a personal virtual meeting at a time that suits you. Meet staff and pupils, have a look around with our virtual tour and see what makes Rye so special.

We are incredibly proud of the Virtual Learning Experience we have offered our pupils during lockdown – you can read about it here
