Visiting Teacher of Guitar

The school seeks to appoint a well-qualified and experienced Visiting Teacher of Guitar (and preferably ukulele) to join our vibrant school community.

The Music Department at Rye St Antony is a flourishing department that embraces a wealth of  musical styles, ranging from Western Classical to more contemporary styles.  There are currently two choirs, an orchestra and various ad hoc ensembles throughout the Prep and Senior Schools.

Part-Time Teacher of Food and Nutrition, Maternity Leave Cover

We are seeking to appoint a maternity cover for a part-time Teacher of Food and Nutrition in our thriving all-through school community.  The successful candidate will be able to teach GCSE Food and Nutrition and will have experience of enabling pupils to succeed at this level.

Our school has a strong Christian Catholic ethos which puts the development of children’s talents at the centre of all we do, and we are looking for a teacher who enjoys helping pupils to develop their potential in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject area, sharing this with pupils in lessons, and through the organisation of other activities as part of the school’s vibrant enrichment programme.

First Aid Co-ordinator

We are seeking to appoint a First Aid Co-ordinator to cover, on a fixed term contract, the absence of our School Nurse (and to provide additional first aid support in school following her return) for two school terms (Trinity and Michaelmas Terms 2021).  The successful applicant will support the school community in keeping all children safe and well on site.  The role includes working closely with children to treat illness and identify and respond to children in need.  The First Aid Co-ordinator will need to be flexible, efficient and proactive in our vibrant school community.

Deputy Head Pastoral

Required for September 2021 or January 2022

We are seeking to appoint a highly talented individual who shares our Christian Catholic ethos which puts the development of children’s talents at the centre of all we do.  We are looking for a Deputy Head Pastoral to join our dynamic, hardworking, committed, and forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team (SLT).  The successful applicant will enjoy working collaboratively and will have the passion to contribute to the development of our flourishing school.

In our 90th year of educating the individual at Rye, we are continuing to build a diverse, enthusiastic, and highly supportive community of teachers with a commitment to academic excellence while maintaining a first-rate provision of pastoral care.  As a member of the SLT the successful candidate will work closely with the Head, Bursar, Deputy Head Academic and Head of Prep to continue the development of the school and embed its vision for the future.

Vacancies on the Board of Governors

By joining the Board of Governors at Rye you will help to ensure the school’s continued financial viability and strong academic standards that underpin pupils’ success.  Governors shape the future strategy of the school and give support to the Head. Acting as a ‘critical friend’ you provide an independent and objective viewpoint as well as your expert knowledge and advice, and act as a sounding board for new ideas.

As a Governor you will be supported by the Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools (AGBIS) which offers a range of high quality seminars and training materials to help you understand and fulfil the responsibilities of the role.  For more information visit the AGBIS website.
