Our Nursery and Reception pupils learn in an unrivaled setting – our spacious grounds with 12 acres of woodland in Headington, Oxford. With the commitment from our experienced teaching team, your child will reach their full potential in a creative and enriching environment and, by working closely with parents to understand each child, we will achieve an outstanding, nurturing, and holistic education experience.
In Rye Pre-Prep we have fully embraced the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with our children. We believe this gives children the best chance of learning with us when they are developing so rapidly.
Alongside these key areas, our children are incredibly lucky to take part in many other activities taught by subject specialists. Nursery and Reception have weekly sessions in Forest School on our own grounds, French, PE, Cookery, Music, and Drama.

Communication and Language
Preparing for reading and writing, speaking and listening, singing songs, and joining in with stories, helping to build confidence through frequent assemblies and circle time.
Literacy
Learning through our highly successful phonics programme, one-to-one reading sessions, structured and varied activities, and practicing fine-motor skills for writing.
Practising in Physical Development
Putting our wonderful grounds to good use to provide opportunities for climbing trees, riding scooters and trikes, practicing climbing skills on the host of play equipment and gym apparatus, gymnastics, and ball skills.
Mathematics
Fostering a natural curiosity for numbers, structured activities, maths in everyday life, offering a range of methods to suit the child’s way of learning.
Understanding the World
