What are your favourite subjects?

Drama! I get to play different characters, and our teacher lets us do really fun drama games. We had to improvise a wedding scene recently, which was great fun, and we added some shock storylines! I also love Maths and English, and I really like my teachers, Mr. Grant and Ms. McHugh.

Has there been a favourite project in any of your school subjects?

We each made a “Biome in a Bottle” poster for topic work. This was to show different wildlife habitats and environments. I chose to do a coral reef; I drew different kinds of coral and a jellyfish with lots of legs. I know that in real life, you should never touch coral because it can be hurt, as coral is a living thing.

What’s your favourite lunch at Rye?

I like lots of the lunches, so it is hard to choose. I really liked the burrito lunch we had recently on burrito day! I think the desserts we have at lunch are great, and I especially like having fruit and jelly.

Favourite place in Rye on the grounds?

I think my favourite place at Rye is the wooded forest, where you can play around the trees. It’s very pretty, and I enjoy playing hide and seek with my friends here.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Actor! I would love to be a child actor and an actor when I’m older too. I performed in the shorter version of “Into the Woods” at Rye; I got cast as both the Wolf and the Witch and loved it! I went to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in Milton Keynes with my mum and I loved the songs and costumes. My mum said my eyes lit up when I was watching it, and I think it made me want to become an actor even more.

Why do you think people come to Rye School?

I think Rye Prep School is like finding treasure at the end of a rainbow. The staff are always there for you whenever you need them, and the school does a lot to make you feel at home. I’ve made some good friends, and I like my small class size.

What’s your favourite lunchtime or after-school activity you do at Rye?

I do lots of activities at Rye during lunch and after school, I am in football club, LAMDA, and the book club. We are reading “The Thieves of Ostia” at the moment in Book Club. I never used to like reading, but Rye has helped me, so now I love reading and books! My favourite author is Michael Morpurgo, and I have read lots of his books.

Do you have any favourite hobbies?

I like doing lots of different things, I like swimming, and you can also do this at school. I like entering competitions in and out of school. Once I entered a competition and won tickets to a play. It was a competition to make something that would help the world. My invention was a friend machine, so if you were feeling lonely, it would help you find a friend. I like being kind to people and, above all, drama!
