The Year 8/9 Rounders team played against The Swan School Year 9 team.
All of the Senior School girls were anxious considering the majority of our team was Year 8 and it was their first official game against another school, but this did seem to show in the first few balls.
We started the match fielding, and managed to intercept every ball stopping them scoring, and only gave away 1/2 a rounder due to obstruction. In the second set of 9 balls, we did give away one rounder and two halves but to finish the first innings with only 2.5 rounders was exceptional.
We had some great individual performances in terms of batting with Sofia smashing the ball on the first ball (which was a no ball) scoring a rounder! In the second innings we did just as well, with the final score being a 12-7 win, and Athena being awarded player of the match!
