Last week 6 Rye pupils went to Girls Go Gold at Wycombe Abbey School. This was an inspirational day for our girls with a range of different speaker: Professor Greg Whyte OBE, Sue Anstiss MBE, Alex Aljoe, Mikki Austi, Phil Collier, Rochelle ‘Rocky’ Clarke MBE and Sarah Collin.
The girls participated in a range of practical and theory sessions focussing on an array of different sports. Sue Anstiss led an inquisitive discussion on the history of girls’ sport which led to lots of questions expanding our knowledge and understanding. Professor Greg Whyte led a fantastic session on the differences between male and female sport and how the psychological factors can determine a particular skill level for females.
Overall, it was a spectacular day and a very valuable experience.
