Scholarship Awards at Headington Rye Oxford

To recognise and reward individual talent and ability, we offer a range of different scholarships at 11+, 13+ and 16+.

Once selected as scholars, pupils benefit from our highly regarded enrichment and extension programme, allowing them to further develop their skills and talent in their area of expertise through mentoring, specialist coaching, masterclasses and workshops. Scholarships are awarded for the duration of a student’s school career as long as the recipient remains enthusiastic and committed to the field in which they have been recognised. All prospective scholars must pass the appropriate school entrance assessments and may then be selected as a scholar on the basis of their performance in the subsequent scholarship assessment. Students may be awarded more than one scholarship award, if one of those awarded is Academic.

Whilst most of our scholarships do not carry a financial award, there are a number of special academic scholarships available to the highest achieving candidates at 11+ and 13+ that do. In addition, all music scholarships afford free tuition in a musical instrument of choice.

For more details of our expectations of scholars, and on the assessment process, please read the
Scholarships Booklet 2024 which can be accessed via these links:
