Public speaking and debating offers a fantastic way to improve our pupils’ confidence as well as encourage critical thinking. We take part in many public speaking and debating activities, both in and outside school.

These include:

  • The Rye St Antony Sugg Cup, held once a year. This is always a highly-anticipated event in the school calendar when pupils from Year 2 upwards read their chosen prose (or poetry) in front of the whole school
  • The Youth Speaks competition is hosted annually here at Rye St Antony, when pupils from other Oxfordshire Schools come and compete
  • Various debating competitions are held throughout the year for both Prep and Senior School pupils

Whole School Open Week

Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October

This year we are doing things slightly differently to comply with current Covid-19 guidelines.

We warmly invite you to experience Rye St Antony during a personal virtual meeting at a time that suits you. Meet staff and pupils, have a look around with our virtual tour and see what makes Rye so special.

We are incredibly proud of the Virtual Learning Experience we have offered our pupils during lockdown – you can read about it here
