Art at Rye St Antony starts at an early age when pupils are given the freedom to express themselves in all kinds of media from drawing and painting to textiles and ceramics.

Our pupils’ artistic abilities are harnessed through a wide range of media including:

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Printmaking
  • Sculpture
  • Pottery
  • Ceramics
  • Textiles
  • Digital photography
  • New media

Whether the subject is studied as part of the curriculum or within our varied extra-curricular programme, we offer a wide range of art and design based activities to suit individual pupils.

Our art rooms and art studios are fully equipped with the tools to create masterpieces of all kinds and include a pottery kiln, Pug Mill, computers with access to digital imagery, printing press and easels. The textiles studio has sewing machines, computers, printers and other equipment to help pupils explore this area of art and design.

The Art Department organises an excellent programme of trips to inspire and enthuse pupils including fashion shows, art galleries and exhibitions.
