Life at Rye St Antony Boarding School, Oxford

Boarding isn’t just part of the school, it isn’t just somewhere to sleep. It is your daughter’s home for the foreseeable future and so at the heart of what we want to achieve, for you, is a fun, supportive, stimulating, friendly and safe environment where you feel comfortable sending her.

Each of our boarders is treated as an individual whose needs and likes are catered for. This reflects the whole school philosophy, and we encourage all our girls to respect one another, take an active role in the boarding community, try new experiences and, just as importantly, develop strong and lasting friendships with their fellow pupils. As part of our boarding community, girls will have the opportunity to enjoy a busy programme of activities during the evenings and weekends. With their input, our activity programme is varied so that no two weeks are ever the same.

Our boarders love the lively atmosphere of Oxford with its many cultural and recreational attractions, whilst many of our outings and visits venture further afield to give girls a taste of British culture and heritage.  Within school, we offer many activities including sport and fitness, arts, crafts and music plus age-appropriate social gatherings with other schools. Boarding School, Oxford.

Boarders at Rye become fully integrated with our day girls with whom our international students develop long-lasting friendships often returning to study at Rye at a later stage of their education. Our boarding options at Rye include Full, Weekly, and Flexi. We actively encourage prospective pupils to sample boarding life at Rye for themselves, it’s the best way to experience our warm and happy community for themselves.

At Rye St Antony, we are very proud to have been rated Outstanding in the most recent Independent Schools Inspection (ISI). This is due to the dedication and commitment of our experienced boarding staff combined with our excellent facilities offered for all ages in a safe and secure environment.

One of our Year 12 students put it better than we ever could:

There is a community environment, and you have an instant family.”
