Welcome to Rye St Antony Senior School

Moving up into Senior School is one of life’s most significant milestones. At Rye St Antony we aim to make the transition from Junior School as smooth and straightforward as possible. New Senior School girls are welcomed in to our Rye ‘family’ through our carefully thought-out mentoring systems and will have already attended induction days, whether they are existing pupils or new ones.

At Rye we take great pride in the level of our pastoral care – each girl’s mental and physical wellbeing is our Number One priority and this leads to happy, confident pupils who willingly accept challenges and perform to the best of their ability in all areas.

Whilst academic standards and expectations are high, our small class sizes ensure active, inclusive and confident learning. Girls at Rye really benefit from teaching and support targeted to their individual needs, strengths and interests.

The Rye Senior School community is happy, busy and full of life as this ensures our girls reach their full potential, whether academic, sporting or extra-curricular.

Our experienced specialist teaching staff take time to encourage a zest for learning, opportunities to question, research and discover across a broad curriculum. Girls are encouraged to discuss and investigate what they have learned, both in and outside the classroom so that they easily switch from learning with others to learning independently.

The Core Curriculum subjects of English, Mathematics and the Sciences are extremely well covered and languages such as French, Spanish and Latin are offered to all. Pupils at Rye also excel at drama, art and design, sport, music and home economics –all important components of the curriculum but these subjects are also rife with opportunities within our enrichment programme. Last but certainly not least, Religion, Philosophy and the Humanities are covered within the main curriculum. Girls can choose from over 20 GCSE, AS and A Levels as they progress through the school. On average, they will go on to take 10 GCSEs and four to five AS/A Level subjects.

Enrichment is an important component of life at Rye, providing a perfect balance with academic learning. Our extensive and imaginative range of enrichment activities are created to fit girls’ interests whilst helping them to accept challenges and grow in confidence and self-awareness.

Walk into our Senior School on any one day and you will see so much more than girls with their heads down in the classrooms. They may be organising a charity activity during break time, taking part in a hockey tournament, practising for their Duke of Edinburgh Award or attending one of the school’s numerous clubs which really do offer something for everyone.

Do come and witness the Rye Senior School community in action for yourself. We are extremely proud of our school and the activities and achievements made every single day by our Senior School Girls.
