Our small class sizes enable teachers to meet the individual needs of every pupil and we offer a broad and diverse curriculum.
Curricular topics include numeracy, literacy, the sciences, the humanities, computing, music and drama, sport, languages – and each of these provides opportunities to investigate and discover, whether children are working independently or with one another.
Prep School Teachers use varied and creative teaching methods which are tailored for the individual pupil, whatever the pupil’s ability.
As well as working with their Form Teachers, our Prep School pupils have the opportunity of working with specialist teachers in French, ICT, Science, Music, Drama, PE, Art and Home Economics.
Our standards Key Stage Two in reading are well above the national average and pupils’ attainment increases by three to four grades above the national curriculum levels for every year group.
Boys attending Rye, who leave at the age of 11, are renowned for achieving places in top Oxford Schools including Magdalen, Abingdon, New College, Summer Fields and Christ Church Cathedral School.
Our Year 6 girls are thoroughly prepared for the transition into Senior School and four Scholarships are offered each year.
