ixth Form is a time for each girl to focus on subjects
which are of genuine interest to her and which will
provide the foundations for her university course
and future career.
Each girl is helped to cope wisely and sensitively
with the authority and responsibilities which she
will have as a member of the Sixth Form, and she will
be given opportunities which will help her to learn
how to undertake commitments successfully whether
working alone or as a member of a team. A particular
opportunity for leadership arises with the annual
election of the Patricians. Patricians are senior
prefects who hold office from the May of their first
year in Sixth Form until the following May. Patricians
undertake a range of responsibilities including serving
on School Council, operating the Housemother system
and helping with the organisation of school events.
The Patricians meet weekly as a team with the Headmistress
and they contribute to both school policy-making and
school management.
Most girls study four or five AS subjects in the first
year of Sixth Form and continue three or four subjects
to A Level in the second year of Sixth Form. Over
twenty subjects are offered at AS/A Level. A certificated
modular course in Information and Communications Technology
is open to all members of the Sixth Form as an additional
course, and a popular range of sports activities,
many based at Oxford Brookes University, is also available.

Sixth Form girls are comfortably accommodated in The
Cottage, which provides them with a peaceful and private
working and living environment.
The girl who uses her opportunities to the full will
find herself working hard but she will have the satisfaction
of seeing her achievements and realising that they reflect
the intellectual development, the initiative and the
independence which Sixth Form seeks to promote.
