lanning permission has now been granted for the new Sports Hall and building works are due to commence on 9th July 2007. It is hoped that the building will be completed within a year and should be available for school use in September 2008.

The new building will be sited between the lower Tennis Courts and the Hockey Pitch and will not require the removal of any trees. Internally there will be a County standard hall measuring 33 metres by 18 metres sufficient for three badminton courts or one full size tennis court with run off, a first floor gallery incorporating a fitness area, two changing rooms with showers and toilets each designed for use by thirty people, a good sized PE department office and a small kitchen area in the entrance hall similar to the one in the Janet Ward building. Externally a new illuminated pathway will run down the side of the tennis courts linking the new building to the Rendall building.

The building has been designed by Mr Mark Webber of Nichols Brown Webber, an architects practice based in Henley, and the construction will be carried out by Feltham Construction Ltd of Newbury. This latter firm has great experience in this field and has recently completed an outstanding new sports hall at Moulesford School, also designed by Mark Webber.
