Year 11 Art and Textile pupils went into Oxford for a day of research as part of their Exam preparations. We began the Art trip in the covered market, where the pupils took photos and did drawings of interesting aspects that related to their exam theme, ranging from the carcass of a cow in the butchers to shop windows and architecture. The next stop was the newly opened and transformed Ashmolean Museum. Inside, after an initial tour of the relevant areas to focus on, the pupils made their own selection of paintings, sculptures and artefacts to study and draw. Gathering photos and postcard images completed their studies and ended a useful and interesting day.
